Hi friends,
I'll be honest, not much has been happening save for some frustrating editing complications. It really is a process to figure out the real meat of the conversations I've had, but it's also been really nice re-listening to them. Made me a bit nostalgic, actually. I think that in the end I'll have two really neat episodes to show clips of in the virtual screening happening at the end of the month.
Speaking of, I wonder how that will all play out. Of course there's going to be some marginal dip in quality since it'll be online and my fellow colleagues' (or at least the majority of them) have some sort of visual component to their projects, but hopefully it won't be too difficult to have them show their projects and give them the spotlight they rightfully deserve. I do feel kind of gypped that we won't have an in-person screening, because the one last year was really great in my opinion. I really liked how in that event last year the seniors that presented talked a bit about their piece at the end of it, and in a sense I'm glad that the department is doing that by having us record videos about that. Sort of stupidly I also like how the film events that I've been to in the past had my FMS logo on it, because even though I am not the most active person in the FMS community as a whole, I feel that I've contributed something since they still use that.
Tomorrow I'll have a meeting with my capstone advisor to catch him up on the project and how things are going in general, so that's nice too. He told me that the episodes have to be done by mid-May, which is actually really nice because I somehow had the idea that I had to have them ready by the end of classes, which is the end of this week. It's a relief that I have a lot of time to work on them for sure.
Anyhow, I'll keep you guys posted on how the meeting goes tomorrow, I suppose. For now I don't have any groundbreaking updates or anything. Just wanted to voice my thoughts on some end of the school year matters, especially since this semester has proven to be an abnormal one in more than a couple of ways. Thanks for listening to me ramble on a bit.
